Patients with a wide variety of orthopedic oncologic problems are treated by the Orthopedic Oncology practice. This service works closely with the Washington University Cancer Center musculoskeletal oncology specialist to provide the best possible treatment of musculoskeletal neoplasia, benign and malignant tumors, and primary and metastatic lesions, as well as to provide care for acutely and chronically ill patients.

Clinical research and its application to the subspecialty of orthopedic oncologic surgery are actively pursued. Of particular note in this area is the application of innovative limb salvage surgery techniques for patients with sarcomas of the extremities. This service maintains active membership in the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society.
